What We Did

This was my first competition website — and what a fantastic project to begin with.

Working closely with Chris, we developed a bespoke solution using WooCommerce and the Woocommerce Lottery plugin. One of the early challenges was adapting the plugin’s default lottery terminology to suit The Luxury Club’s branding, which meant recoding elements to replace terms like “lottery” with “competition” throughout the user interface.

We also implemented:

✅ Custom age verification on entry, built from scratch
✅ Customer login system for easy access to purchased tickets
✅ A subtle top-bar notification system for important messages or competition updates
✅ Streamlined ticket selection and checkout, with clear UI
✅ Fully responsive design that works seamlessly across desktop and mobile

Design & Performance

The colour scheme reflects luxury and trust — deep royal blue, cream accents, and refined gold touches, paired with sharp serif typography. We built the site with clarity and speed in mind, ensuring every image was fully optimised (with SEO-friendly filenames and alt tags), and every page followed SEO best practices — one H1 per page, keyword-optimised titles, and structured content.

Unlike many designers who charge extra for these technical optimisations later as “SEO add-ons,” I include them as standard. It’s the little things that matter — and that most people overlook.

Ongoing Support

After launching the site, Chris asked me to continue maintaining the site for a small monthly fee — something I offer all my clients. Whether it’s updates, content changes, or help with marketing, I’m always here to support the people I work with.
