Hi, I’m Mike – a freelance web designer based in Doncaster. I help small businesses across the UK and beyond get online with websites that look great, load fast, and are built with purpose.

My Story

I’ve been around computers my whole life. I hold a degree in Computing and Information Systems Science from Bradford University and a Master’s in Software Development from Huddersfield.

Web design found me by accident. Over 15 years ago, a friend asked for help after being quoted a huge sum for a website. I taught myself how to build it – it wasn’t easy, but it worked. That one job led to another, and now I work full time helping others do the same.

I also have over 10 years of experience in the broadcast industry as a cameraman and video editor. I've worked on over 100 hours of television content with Rich Life Stories, a production company led by my best friend Richard Alexander. We met at college and have worked together on many high-end productions, giving me a strong foundation in visual storytelling and production standards.

This broadcast background gives me a unique edge compared to all web designers and social media managers. I understand how to create visuals that connect, communicate, and convert. It's also why I’m soon expanding into creating professional Reels and video content for my clients – something very few designers can genuinely offer with real production experience.

Today, I build exclusively with WordPress and work with clients across many industries. But my focus is always the same: simple, honest, and affordable websites that get results.

A Little Bit About Life Behind the Screen

I mostly work from home, where I live with Rodney, a fun loving Doberman that's my Head of Security, and Hilda, a cheeky French Bulldog who insists on daily chaos and leading Roney astray. Taking time out throughout the day to spend time with these two is another reason I'm self employed.
